Terms of use

The service

MusicCutter is a free web application that edits audio inside your browser. It is provided as is, without warranty. Results depend on your browser and device; always check exported files before relying on them.

Your content

You keep all rights to audio you edit. You are responsible for having the right to edit and distribute it — for example, making a ringtone from a commercial song for your own phone is very different from publishing it.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site or use it to infringe others' rights.

Open-source components

The MP3 encoder (lamejs) is licensed under the GNU LGPL 3.0 and is delivered as a separate, unmodified script file; you may replace it with a compatible version. Other components are MIT-licensed. Licence notices are published at /third-party-licenses.txt.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, MusicCutter is not liable for loss of data or other damages arising from use of the site. Keep copies of your original files.
